Oakley Baptist Church Youth Ministry Let no one look down on your youthfulness, but rather in speech, conduct, love, faith and purity, show yourself an example of those who believe. 1 Timothy 4:12    God wants you to live a life devoted to the Lord, regardless of your age. Here at Oakley Baptist Church we make every effort to instill this principle in the lives of our young people. God can and does use young people to make sure that the message of the Gospel is spread throughout the world. Statistics also bear out that if someone is to make a decision to receive Jesus as their personal Lord and Savior, it will most likely be done before they finish high school.    We have a great deal of things going on with our youth. Why don't you come out and join us. TRUE LOVE WAITS    True Love Waits (TLW) is all about making a commitment to remain sexually pure until marriage. The TLW pledge reads as follows: Believing that true love waits, I make a commitment to God, myself, my family, my friends, my future mate, and my future children to a lifetime of purity including sexual abstinence from this day until the day I enter a biblical marriage relationship    We have asked our youth to make this pledge and remain pure until they enter a biblical marriage relationship. For more information on True Love Waits.   WORLD CHANGERS    World Changers provides a dynamic week-long mission trip for students seeking to make a difference in the lives of those with spiritual and physical needs. Oakley Baptist Church has been an active participant in World Changers since 1991.   YOUTH CHOIR    New to Oakley Baptist Church is our Youth Choir. Under the leadership of Mary Sandifer our Youth Choir performs during our Sunday evening worship service.   S.N.A.C. (Sunday Night After Church)   SNACs are informal gatherings of our youth to promote fellowship and unity. All youth are invited, along with their friends, to enjoy a relaxed evening of food and fun.   SUNDAY EVENING STUDY    Every Sunday evening from 5:30-7:00 PM our youth gather under the leadership of Vanessa Thompson to study God's Word. Vanessa has a heart for young people and has devoted her life to work with them. During this time youth are challenged to grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. OTHER ACTIVITIES    There are other activities for our young people to get involved with. Every year our youth host our annual Valentine's Banquet. The youth are also responsible for decorating our fellowship hall for Christmas. Acteens, Royal Ambassadors, and our relationship with the Cameron Boy's Camp are also some of the activities that our youth get involved with.
