Ruth 3:11       Mission Statement Our mission is to meet the needs of women through fellowship and encouragement in God's word and to acknowledge that Jesus is Lord and Savior. The Women's Ministry of Oakley Baptist Church believes in the transforming nature of God's holy and perfect Word.  We believe God has called each one to an effective prayer life and that the power of those prayers is also transforming.  We commit to evangelize the lost, encourage believers, and edify the Church in our hearts and with our words.  We endeavor to be virtuous women, pure and chaste, empowered and equipped by the Holy Spirit to use our giftedness to bring glory and honor to Jesus Christ.   Ministry Opportunities The Women's Ministry is a vital and active part of Oakley Baptist Church.  We offer Bible Study classes on an ongoing basis, as well as prayer groups.  We also provide the church and community with a special women's luncheon each year.   Current Women's Ministries Women's Missionary Union The Women's Missionary Union (WMU) is the umbrella structure under which most of our women's ministry activities take place. The WMU is instrumental in setting our annual mission emphasis goals (Annie Armstrong, Lottie Moon, etc). The WMU also provides leadership to our mission teams. The Bible has given a clear mandate for women who are maturing in the Lord to encourage younger women toward godliness. With this in mind, the WMU also leads our young ladies and girls in the way of righteousness. Women on Mission (WOM) WOM is a missions emphasis group that gathers together once a month for prayer and planning. They are actively involved in praying for our local schools, volunteering for Samaritan's Purse, and otherwise promoting missions awareness at our church. Divine Vision Divine Vision is the younger generation counterpart to WOM. They are also actively involved in meeting and praying for our church and our community. Women's Bible Studies There are two on-going women's Bible studies at Oakley Baptist Church. One meets on the second Tuesday of each month in the fellowship hall. They sometimes have guest speakers. The other meets on a semester basis, studying different books of the Bible or different thematic studies.
