Men's Ministry
The men of Oakley Baptist are actively involved in serving the Lord. There are opportunities for service regardless of one's giftedness. Here are a few of the ways the men of Oakley Baptist work in ministry. Tuesday Morning Prayer Time Every Tuesday morning at 6 AM a group of men gather in the fellowship hall for a devotion and a time of prayer. Brotherhood The Brotherhood meets formerly once a month on the first Wednesday night of each month. The Brotherhood is under the leadership of Bob Davis. When they meet, they pray together and study various mission emphases. The Brotherhood also plans and executes our annual Men's Worship Service. During this service the church is treated to hear how the men of the church have been actively involved in ministry. There is also a men's choir during this service. Some of our men are receiving training in disaster relief so that they can be prepared at a moments notice to go and minister to those who have been devastated by natural disasters. The Brotherhood also makes an annual trip to the Cameron Boy's Camp to deliver firewood. Deacons Although the deacons at Oakley do take care of much of the "business" of the church, they are also actively involved in ministry. The deacons regularly help meet needs through benevolence. They are also active in visiting the sick and shut-ins. Royal Ambassador (RAs) Leaders The men of the church also have the opportunity to minister to the younger boys in the church. The Royal Ambassadors are under the leadership of Lee Dixon and Gary Ellis. |
